Pack 79 Activities

We strive to provide a fun-filled adventure for our scouts.  Here is a sample of some activities Pack 79 has participated

Pinewood Derby - Boys build a car from a block of wood and race.  We have our pinewood derby race every January and we have a friendly challenge with Boy Scout Troop 79 for the coveted Pack-Troop Trophy

Blue & Gold Dinner - During our Blue & Gold dinner, our Arrow of Light scouts cross over to the rank of Boy Scouts.

Church Sleepover Camping - Every year we get together at First Methodist Church and do an indoor overnight camping during the winter.  This is a great time for the boys to learn how to pitch a tent and establish friendships with boys from the various dens.

Hikes - Boys will participate in hikes are part of their adventures.

Rocket Launch - We get together at Markey Park and launch rockets.

Summer Camp - Summer camping is a great opportunity for the boys to earn advancements while having a fun-filled overnight camping experience.  Boys will have a chance to shoot BB-guns and archery (these activities are only approved at BSA events).

Police/Fire Station/Armory Visit - We visit the local and/or Regional police department and get a tour of the facilities.  We also try to get a tour of the National Guard Armory in Sellersville.

Memorial Day Parade - Pack 79 has great respect for all the members of the military that are currently serving or have served our country.  Our Pack joins with Troop 79 to show respect for our military and veterans.

Scouting for Food - We collect non-perishable food for Pennridge FISH

Creek Clean-up -  Scouting is a service oriented organizations. We celebrate Earth day by doing a cleanup service project for our community.  We either do a stream cleanup or local park.
