Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Cub Scout Promise, the Law of the Pack, and the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a boy`s sense of belonging.

Cub Scout Motto: Do Your Best.

Cub Scout Salute:  Sign:     Handshake:

At the start of each Pack meeting the boys have a flag ceremony followed by saying the Pledge of Allegiance, Cub Scout Promise and Cub Scout Law.

Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under god, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

NEW: The Scout Oath and Law have replaced the Cub Scout Promise and Law of the Pack.

Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Colors: The Cub Scout colors are blue and gold. They have special meaning, which will help boys see beyond the fun of Cub Scouting to its ultimate goals.  The blue stands for truth and spirituality, steadfast loyalty, and the sky above. The gold stands for warm sunlight, good cheer, and happiness.

Beyond the Basics

  • Boys are encouraged to earn the religious emblem of their faith. This emblem is both an important part of the boy’s (and his family’s) faith journey, but is also considered a premier award within the Scouting community.
  • The National Summertime Pack Award and the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award are important group awards that build a sense of team for the boys.
  • We support and ask for your support in Cub Scouting’s Leave No Trace Awareness Award  which defines the standards of behavior for Scouts during outdoor activities.
